This is Eman talking to Barbara. Eman is is very observant; actually she was the only one who heard the sound in the background at Barbara’s end.  Watch the movie to learn more about the source of that sound, Eman noticed!

PS I’m so sorry that Adel’s part has disappeard!! Adel held such a professional business conversation with Barbara, trying to convince her to open a saving account at the branch of Gulf Bank he manages. It’s really a pity, as it was so interesting. I hope things wrok better in terms of technology during our next voice-text chat event.

Thanks to Barbara Sawhill for talking to us through Skype, yesterday, Monday, April 17, 2006.

You are watching,  Abeer having a conversation with Barbara about the kind of difficulties English learners encounter sometimes. Participants took turns to talk to our virtual guest.

It was the first synchronous voice-text chat project, arranged for a group of GB branch managers, participating in this ESP program prepared for them, aiming to improve their oral and technical writing skills.

It was an interesting activities that we all enjoyed. I am expecting to hear some feedabck from the participants, on yesterday’s event, through their Odeo channels, they should have created by now!

More on this, soon :)

Hello and Welcome to EVO WebPresence Part 2, the Moodle!

WebPresence 2.0 Co-Moderators, Bob, Buth, and Vance

This session officially starts on Jan.16, 2006, and runs for six weeks. My part in this session is to share and discuss some of the new ways/social software EFL/ESL university instructors and students can use to build and maintain their webpresence, using social learning technologies, such as blogs, flickr groups, podcasting channels, skype, webcasting
via WorldBridges, and RSS.

RSS feeds is one of the main topics, which will be discussed in terms of its uses and benifits in the EFL/ESL classroom. This topic might be presented in audio-format at one of the recently developed social software, such as PodOmatic.com or ODEO.com. This is my plan so far…

Looking forward to meeting you on Jan. 16, 2006! Buth :)
